I am pleased with the gadget. Happier than I was with Sync, Alpine, or Garmin. I consider myself an 'Average' navigation user (not a beginner, not an expert) and can update the review following using it much more.
Sidenote: I ordered via Amazon, using "Beach Camera" vendor. It had been delivered One (one) business day following I ordered it! I used 'Standard' delivery, and FedEx (House services) had it delivered quick. Very happy with Beach Camera's delivery email messages and speed!
I thought I would provide an update following six months of using this TomTom gadget:
one) I am nonetheless extremely pleased! It's the 1st GPS I've used that "just works" and I am glad I do not have to mess with it.
2) I've mastered the method of adjusting the display place while concurrently holding the suction base. Back in Might after i first reviewed it, I was concerned about how 'easily' it popped off. Now, it's nonetheless irritating, but I've minimized the amount of times it occurs by holding it appropriately. It does not annoy me enough to buy a various stand/holder.
3) The suction cup nonetheless holds on quite nicely. It has not fallen off but. (I attach/detach from the windshield every time I exploit it.)
4) Traffic Receiver: I've been happy with alternate directions/road closings. It is quite accurate, even in rural locations exactly where I did not expect street closures to become displayed.
5) Long-distance journey: I've used it for a couple of lengthy journeys (1000+ miles) and had no issues in any way with it. I discovered the 'estimate' of time to become very accurate. It had been no much more than 10 minutes off. (I calculated the time I stopped for gas and additional it towards the original estimate.)
six) Battery life: I've discovered the battery life to become holding a little much less cost than it used to, but absolutely nothing that I really feel is alarming. The majority of the time, I have the power cord connected anyway (so I can get the traffic updates with the antenna constructed into the cord.)
General, this is my preferred GPS. I've been hooking it as much as the computer much less and much less (meaning I am forfeiting new 'map share' punition). I even made the decision NOT to obtain the latest map update. Why? Nicely, I really feel everything is operating just fine the way in which it's. I may update if I have the totally free time. This is in sharp contrast to my prior GPS expertise, exactly where I would pray for updates to repair stubborn issues. The TomTom is just fine and I have had no major grievances. I am NOT in the marketplace to buy a brand new GPS simply because I am finally happy.
